Forty of the plots are managed by Strutt and Parker on behalf of the Cecil Estate Family Trust; the remaining ten are directly managed by the Burghley Estate. They all range in size from about a quarter to half an acre.

Plots come up rarely and there is a long waiting list, but if you are a local resident, an experienced gardener and have the time, energy and commitment to look after a large garden with heritage features, it is always worth making enquiries. Be aware that none of the plots has electricity and that some have no water.
